Calibrations Service & Repair

Welding Calibrations in Wales

Are you facing problems with your MIG or TIG equipment? Do not hesitate to contact us at Linc-Weld Industrial Supplies Ltd. Our professionals have many years of experience in correctly calibrating various types of welding equipment and ensuring they are working perfectly. Take a look at our gallery to see our previous successful calibration projects.

We service and calibrate your welding machines on-site or in-house across South Wales. Our experts will inspect your equipment thoroughly before they calibrate them to reach maximum performance levels and reduce the risk of welding errors.

Regarding the new standard and the main differences

  • The EN 50504 was more dedicated to Europe while the IEC 60974-14 will be used internationally.

  • IEC 60974-14 is little bit more demanding in terms of precision compared to the EN 50504.

  • With the IEC 60974-14, it is now mandatory to check the WFS when it is possible to do so. It was not the case in the EN 50504 as it was in a separate table in the appendix.

  • In terms of reporting & marking the paperwork, the IEC 60974-14 requires to identify the product with “passed, precision grade or standard grade, date of the test or expiry date and name of the organisation that delivers the identification.

  • Now, it also includes IEC 60974-4 within the validation process in order to check the state of the product (marking, LEDs, state of the accessories…) and the insulation (continuity/protection).  A company that is involved with validation of welding power source for a long time was already supposed to do it anyway but now it has to be entered in the software.

  • The EN50504 was not stating how often the welding power source was supposed to be validated. Now, with IEC 60974-14, it is recommended to do it every 12 months.
